João Faria is an architect from Northern Portugal. After an 18 year activity in architecture and teaching, he has devoted his time to designing objects that really meant something for him. Emotional Objects is born from this passion. He designs objects for his needs and hopes that someone else likes it too. Objects are created from this need and then, the design is taken to its limits, without compromises. João makes its own prototypes and tests its ideas and solution like a sculptor. After testing one or several solutions, its time to choose the best artisans to make it feasible.
Since the beginning of his work, he won 8 international design awards.
Back in 2015, he won a Golden Award with his Butter Dish Iris.
In 2018, his brand Emotional Objects was nominee Best Brand Innovation by Harper's Bazaar Interior Awards.

Mix and Match Seat by João Faria Mix and Match is a bench seating collection designed for hotels, entrances and commercial buildings. Each bench has a wood veneer surface in oak, walnut or tineo, with openings that hold chairs in place. The chairs have their legs removed and receive a mechanism that secures them to the bench and lets them rotate freely. Three bench sizes hold two, three or four chairs, and six chair models are offered. A small table and USB charging sockets can be added, so many combinations are possible.

Lazy Day Collection Seating by João Faria Lazy Day is a collection of seating designed for contemporary living rooms. The collection includes armchairs and sofas in two-seat and three-seat sizes. The most notable feature is the rounded wooden back, veneered with wood leaves and finished in satin or high gloss. Two versions are offered, Classic and Modern, with differences in feet and finishes. The structure combines layers of MDF and aluminium for strength, and a sub-structure under the upholstery shapes the fabric. The feet are steel with gold paint or brushed stainless steel. Custom-made options are also available.
