Islamic Identity Branding Islamic Identity by Lama, Rama, and Tariq Ajinah The main concept of the identity is that it is a hybrid of Islamic traditional ornamentation and contemporary design. As the client was attached to traditional values yet interested in contemporary design. Hence, the project was based on two basic shapes; the circle and square. These shapes were used to manifest the contrast found in the brief to combine traditional Islamic patterns with contemporary design. Each unit in the pattern was used once to give the identity a sophisticated manifestation. The silver color was used to emphasize the modern and sophisticated look. Amal Film Festival Advertising poster by Lama, Rama, and Tariq Ajinah The poster was inspired by the cheerful celebration in festivals. The design was created to embrace and celebrate the differences that exist in the rich Spanish culture. As Spain is a multi-cultural country that is rich in its history and identity, the poster was designed to highlight hope between Europeans and Arabs, Muslims and Christians. The project was designed at Barnbrook studio, London, United Kingdom. It took 1 week to have the poster designed. The colors, type and symbols used were inspired by the intersection between the Spanish and Arab cultures. Writer Experience Personal Identity by Lama, Rama, and Tariq Ajinah Writers are the sum of their experiences. What a writer is exposed to is what determines their literature. This very concept was the starting point for branding a Saudi fiction book writer. Clearly, the hybrid of dynamic and colorful spirit of the Spanish culture as well as the Saudi heritage was the main source of inspiration for her. The project was influenced by Gaudi’s mosaic art as it reflects the eclectic experience that stands behind her imagination. |
